I was referred to Dr.Maller after seeing my current dentist about a loose crown, that was placed on my implant 7 years ago by a dentist located in Alamo Heights off Chichester Pl. The crown, wiggled two months after it was placed but since it was my first time ever getting an implant, I didn't know this was not normal. Of course, it progressively got worse and when it started to pop up, my current dentist warned that it could eventually break the pin inside the implant, and warrant a whole new surgery. I am so incredibly grateful that I was referred to Dr.Maller to help me with this problem. I didn't want to go back to the dentist that had not tightened/torqued the inner screw right from the onset, because I had lost faith in him. When I originally got the implant, the periodontist that placed it assured me that anyone could do the crown since it is such a simple procedure. Little did I know, it's not that simple because it involves more than just cementing a crown to the abutment. Dr. Maller examined my tooth and scheduled me right away for a procedure that involved no anesthetics but only time and patience. He was really easy to talk to and was upfront with me about what needed to be done, as well as the potential risks. A few days after meeting with him, he carefully drilled into the crown to locate the tiny little metal screw that wiggled and literally tightened it with his fingers and using a special wrench thing to torque it. This only took 38 minutes and I was able to be at work that day by 9:00am. Before working on my tooth, Dr. Maller offered to write to the previous dentist and inform him of what needed to be corrected as in most cases a dentist/periodontist is willing to correct his/her work. However, I declined because after spending time with Dr.Maller and receiving the explanation as to what was most likely going on in my mouth, I didn't want to go back to Chichester Pl; the piece of mind in knowing that my health and well being was in good hands is worth more to me than trying to save $$ . I highly recommend San Antonio Periodontics and Implants and would definitely use them again. Everyone I met and interfaced with at this office from Angela, the Office Manager, to Juanita, the assistant who helped during my procedure is OUTSTANDING.

Dr. Maller has really helped me so much with my gum problems and implant. I can’t imagine a better periodontist for my needs. Thank you Dr. Maller.
